Hi! My name is Rob Voelker, and I’m running for Riley County Commission District #1 in November. Riley County and Manhattan became my home 18 years ago, when I was hired by KMAN radio as its Sports Director, where I also was the voice of K-State volleyball. My wife and I met each other here, our kids were both born in Manhattan, and they attend school at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School. I’m invested in Riley County. I serve on the City of Manhattan Community Services Funds Advisory Board, the Riley County Helath Department Public Health Advisory Council, TR Site Council, and the Shepherd’s Crossing board. I also volunteer for MART (Manhattan Area Settlement Team).

I’ll be a fresh voice for Riley County because I deeply care about this community and want to see it grow again. We need to spur responsible economic development and increase our property tax base. I know I’m qualified because I’m a collaborator who can bring people together, an attentive listener, and a trustworthy problem solver.
